Debbie Miller

Hello!
I am Debbie Miller, Music teacher at Carthage Primary School.  This is my 38th year with Carthage ISD.  My "passion" for young children has brought many years of happiness and laughter.  I have always had a love for music. Ms. Berniece Blair instilled in me a "love" for singing and performing when I was a student at Libby Elementary.  That love carried over through the years, and I sang in the Carthage High School Choir and "Select Singers" under the direction of Ms. June Lewis. I attended Panola College and  continued my education at Stephen F. Austin University where I received a Bachelor's Degree in Education with a Minor in Reading with a Kindergarten Endorsement in 1977.  I received a Master's Degree in Education  from SFA in 1984.
I began my teaching career in the Fall of 1977 where I taught Kindergarten for 30 years.  I had the opportunity to move to the Music classroom in 2007.  I am so fortunate and blessed to be a part of such a great campus and to have so much "FUN" each and every day.  I am married to Randy Miller and we have one son and daughter-in-law, Luke and Lisa Miller. Our grandson, Landon, is the light of our lives and keeps us young. I have many "students" and "grandstudents" that I also consider "my" children.  I am very thankful for the joy and friendship of so many students, parents and colleagues that I have acquired through the years.
