🌟 Instructional Practices & Practicum Student Spotlight 🌟 Featuring: Cheyenne Holt Mentor Teacher: Kristy Cawthon, 5th Grade, Baker-Koonce Intermediate This week we are proud to spotlight Cheyenne Holt, a practicum student who is already demonstrating the heart, initiative, and passion of a future educator! ❤️ What Makes Cheyenne Stand Out? Cheyenne has a natural ability to connect with students. She takes time to build real relationships, pays attention to every child—even the quiet ones—and helps them feel seen, supported, and loved. Her mentor shares that the kids adore her, and the feeling is clearly mutual. 🚀 Growth in the Classroom Since beginning her practicum, Cheyenne has stepped up in meaningful ways. She’s learned classroom procedures, anticipates what students will need, prepares supplies in advance, and helps new arrivals transition smoothly into activities—all without disrupting instruction. Her awareness and initiative shine every day. 💪 Strengths & Teaching Qualities Cheyenne’s greatest strengths are her genuine heart and her determined desire to do her very best. She brings kindness, patience, and a positive spirit to every moment she spends in the classroom. ✨ A Favorite Memory One afternoon during dismissal, Cheyenne was outside with students when it was time for her to go. Instead of heading out quickly, she ran the entire perimeter of the playground just to make sure she told every single student goodbye individually. It’s moments like this that show the kind of caring educator she is becoming. 🌱 Words of Advice from Her Mentor Keep loving kids and continue focusing on building relationships—you have a gift for that. You may not be able to fix every problem you see, but you can always keep loving them.
