🌟 Instructional Practices & Practicum Student Spotlight 🌟 Featuring: Lupita Garcia Mentor Teacher: Mrs. Brooke Lipsey – Libby Elementary Lupita Garcia, a Carthage High School senior, is standing out as a future educator through her compassion, work ethic, and heart for students. Mrs. Lipsey describes her as someone who “goes above and beyond what is asked of her. She comes right in and gets to work. She communicates well with both adults and students, and our students adore her.” Over the course of her practicum, Lupita has grown tremendously in confidence. What began as a shy student with a goal to connect with one special needs student has blossomed into a young professional who’s built strong relationships and walks into the classroom with assurance and purpose. Her mentor shares, “She really cares about her students. She shows them the love and care they need, but isn’t afraid to correct them when needed.” Lupita even went the extra mile by attending Open House after school hours so her students could introduce her to their parents — a true example of her commitment and heart for teaching. 🔥 Student Spotlight: Ivan Gallegos Garcia – Certified Welder! 🔥 Congratulations to Ivan Gallegos Garcia from Carthage High School for earning his Level 1 Welding Certification through the Texas High School Welding Series (TXHSWS)! 👨‍🏭⚡ Ivan successfully completed the AWS D9.1 2F SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding) qualification — demonstrating precision, skill, and dedication during the Arclabs Regional Certification Event in Houston. His work earned an “Acceptable” rating under official inspection, certifying his welds met industry standards for flat and horizontal fillet welds on mild carbon steel. 💪 This achievement showcases the excellence of our CHS Welding Program, and we’re incredibly proud of Ivan’s hard work and commitment to his craft.
